What I wrote to President Obama: Horse slaughter

Dear President Obama,
I am horrified to discover this late that you now made horse slaughter legal in the US. We do not raise horses for slaughter, it is an unfortunate place that many healthy, promising, and young horses end up because of irresponsible owners. Let me ask you this..Would you send your daughter's dog to slaughter? NO. Why should horses be any different? They are the symbol of Freedom and What the Old west used to be! This country was formed on the back of those horses! What you just did was very unpatriotic. You just a signed a death sentence for the horses of this country. If you don't change this i can promise you that you definitely wont be re-elected next year, i can assure you I WILL NOT be voting for you! I vow for every horse that is sent to the kill pen because of what you just did, and every outfit i sell the money will go straight to rescuing that horse! I apologize if this  email ruins your day but what i just learned today ruined my life!


This is the PETITION website so we can stop this monstrosity!

Hi,
I currently am a fashion student at SCAD with a minor in equestrian studies. Even though my main profession will be fashion i am involved in a lot of other things. I am not your typical fashion major. I specialize in drawing horses from memory and creating a fantasy aspect to the realistic horses. Out of the horses i created formed the company EYE OF THE HORSE. I cosplay, take pictures, write, and sing. I also can draw about anything but horses are my specialty.

You're welcome, Its a very demanding college i like to call it. lol. the workload is quite strenuous however it is worth it. Also all majors except for performing arts have to take drawing classes as required general ED as well as other generals like art history, composition, and speech for the first year. I like drawing so i did not have a problem but my roommates were not prepared. lol also they have the most beautiful barn with ex grand pre champions as the school horses. My minor is in the equestrian field so i am very impressed with it. SCAD is actually the only school i applied for because it was the only place i wanted to go...RISD looked too boring lol. I really really like it. I hope this helps in your decision. :) If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Awesome! yeah i love drawing too :) do they offer any business courses? My dad wants me to have some sort of business degree under my belt to back up my photography haha :P Do you know what the board cost is of the barn? Oh interesting, yeah i was looking into RISD too, Thanks!!

yes i believe they have minors for business too...I am just not sure of the names..the board i believe is 1500 a month. I am not sure but i remember it being in that range...what i have heard from the scad kids that have horses there is that they get a student discount so it is 900 a month instead i think? However i am warning you..i have also heard that you must spend at least 4 out of 5 days with your horse ether grooming or riding...they personally call you if you don't come...it sounds extreme but they want you to work with your horse they don't want it to just sit there without some one exercising it..This is what i have heard from the show team and such but if you want to know more you should go down and visit the barn and maybe have a consultation.
